March is here, and with it, spring, so you might be feeling like hitting the reset button after the heavier days of winter. If you are feeling the spring cleaning bug, don’t forget to refresh your oral habits as well to boost your smile with these three tips!

Replace Your Toothbrush

Throw out your old toothbrush and replace it with a new one, one with the bristles intact. And if you are currently using a manual toothbrush, you might even consider upgrading to an electric one. Electric toothbrushes generate more than 30,000 strokes each minute while cleaning your pearly whites. They also push fluid between the teeth and around the gum line, making them more effective at removing surface plaque. Whether you use a manual or electric toothbrush, brush your teeth and gums at least twice every day to prevent gum inflammation, gingivitis and periodontal disease along with tooth decay with brand new bristles!

Commit to Flossing

According to the Center for Disease Control, nearly 65 million Americans have gum disease. To avoid plaque and tartar buildup which can lead to swollen and inflamed gums, flossing daily between your teeth and around the gum line. Nighttime flossing actually removes harmful bacteria that can damage your teeth and gums while you sleep when saliva production is lowered. Renew your commitment to a regular flossing routine this spring, and if you are going to do it once a day, consider flossing before bed.

Professional Dental Cleaning

Revive your oral health with a professional cleaning by our dental team. We will treat your teeth and gums to a thorough scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar. Tartar is nearly impossible to clean with just brushing and flossing alone. This hardened plaque requires special dental tools to remove. Along with scaling and polishing, we will also check for cavities, gum disease, oral cancer, and any other dental health issues.

Let us help you clear your teeth and gums of dental debris, just as you clear out the debris in your home with a spring cleaning. We invite you to give our First Care Dental Assoc team in Tallahassee, Florida a call at 850-309-0970 today!

We accept several dental insurance plans

We accept a wide range of dental insurances, ensuring your smiles stay bright! Don't have coverage? Call us! We can explore alternative options. We're here to help navigate financial details, making dental care accessible and stress-free. Don't let finances hinder your oral health!"
